The Golden Triangle in Nepal typically refers to a popular tourist route that covers three major cities: Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Chitwan. 7-night, 8-day itinerary for exploring these destinations:

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

Your journey begins as you arrive at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. After landing, you’ll be transferred to your designated hotel for check-in. Once settled, take the opportunity to explore Thamel, a vibrant and popular tourist district in Kathmandu. Your first night in Nepal will be spent in Kathmandu, preparing for the adventures ahead.

Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing

Today is dedicated to exploring the cultural and historical treasures of Kathmandu. You’ll start by visiting the Swayambhunath Stupa, also known as the Monkey Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Afterward, your journey continues to Patan Durbar Square, celebrated for its ancient architecture and art. Lastly, you’ll explore the Kathmandu Durbar Square, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. You’ll spend the night in Kathmandu, still immersed in the rich history of the city.

Day 3: Bhaktapur and Nagarkot

The day begins with a scenic drive to Bhaktapur, a beautifully preserved medieval city. In Bhaktapur, you’ll wander through the Bhaktapur Durbar Square and visit the impressive Nyatapola Temple. After your exploration, you’ll head to Nagarkot, a hill station renowned for its breathtaking sunrise and sunset views. Here, you’ll have the chance to enjoy panoramic vistas of the Himalayan peaks before spending the night in Nagarkot.

Day 4: Drive to Pokhara

The next leg of your journey involves a picturesque drive to Pokhara, an adventure that spans approximately 6-7 hours depending on road conditions. Upon reaching Pokhara, you’ll check in to your chosen hotel. The Lakeside area and Phewa Lake await your exploration during your leisure time in the city. Your overnight stay will be in the tranquil surroundings of Pokhara.

Day 5: Pokhara Sightseeing

The day kicks off with an early morning visit to Sarangkot, where you’ll witness the mesmerizing sunrise views over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges. After this remarkable experience, your exploration of Pokhara continues with visits to the Gupteshwor Cave and Davis Falls, followed by a trip to the International Mountain Museum. You’ll spend the night in Pokhara, enchanted by the city’s beauty.

Day 6: Drive to Chitwan National Park

Set out on a drive to Chitwan National Park, a journey that typically takes around 4-5 hours. Upon your arrival, you’ll check in to your jungle lodge, where the wilderness of Chitwan awaits. Your first day in Chitwan includes a thrilling jungle safari, featuring a canoe ride and a visit to the Tharu village. The nightfall will find you settled in Chitwan, amidst the natural wonders of the park.

Day 7: Chitwan National Park

A full day of jungle adventures unfolds as you delve deeper into the heart of Chitwan National Park. Your day may include an elephant safari, bird watching, and a nature walk, allowing you to explore Chitwan’s rich wildlife and natural beauty. In the evening, you’ll be treated to a traditional Tharu cultural dance performance, a perfect way to conclude your time in Chitwan. You’ll rest in Chitwan, cherishing the memories of the day’s experiences.

Day 8: Departure

On your final day, you have two options: you can either drive back to Kathmandu or opt for a flight from Bharatpur, Chitwan, to Kathmandu. Depending on your departure time, you might have some free time for last-minute shopping or additional sightseeing. Ultimately, you’ll bid farewell to Nepal as you depart from the Tribhuvan International Airport or your respective departure point.
